After Martina had locked herself out of her room twice last night, it was my turn today. I left my keys on my bedroom door when I left in the morning, I didnt even realise it untill I came back from the lab at night. We had a dinner planned at a rather fancy restaurant so I had to shower and get dressed and I was already running late when I found out I did not have my keys. So I ran back to the lab to see if I left them there, but not a trace. As my cell phone did not work I could not call any of my flatmates. I was stuck. So I left the lab again, desperate, when I ran into Oren outside. Oren is a PhD student in the Sternberg lab, and I know that he has my flatmate’s phone number. My saving angel. He let me try call her, but of course no luck. Only thing left I could do was call CalTech security, again, to come and please open my flat’s door. I was so embarassed to tell them the flat number! They had an emergency at that moment so they told me it could take up to half an hour untill someone would be able to help me out. 15 minutes later however, I could hop into the shower and finally get ready for my dinner, but not after first having removed the keys from my bedroom door, safely into my pocket.
