After a good night rest (Chippendale dreams for me!!) we decided to stay in Las Vegas half a day more. Its such a crazy place! Basically its the whole world in one city. You have an Eiffeltower, Statue of Liberty, Venice, a pyramid, Trevi Fountain and many more. The city never sleeps. Sin City, we went into several casino’s and played some of the games, only with dollars or quarters. I did manage to win few dollars, but I lost them just as fast as I won them...
Our hotel was called Gold Coast and except for the view from our room, the parking lot wall, it was a great experience staying there. Giant beds, perfectly equipped bathroom, big personalized flat-screen TV on the wall and free ice-cream delivery whenever you liked. The breakfast was enough to feed an army, with eggs, all kinds of meat, potatoes, pasta, fruits, vegetables and different kinds of bread. After the breakfast that would keep our stomachs full the rest of the day, we walked up and down the strip for a few hours, and also took the monorail for fun. We went inside some of the hotels and visited their casino’s. The most impressive hotel is the Bellagio, with its real butterfly garden inside the lobby! Its sooo pretty, one day I will stay a night in this hotel. In front of the Bellagio is its impressive fountain, I think this is Las Vegas’s best attraction. Some of the jets pulse water to 80 meters (!!) in height! Every 15-30 mins there is a show, although strong desert winds sometimes interfere, and during darkness comes along an impressive lightshow. There are several different shows with either music from Frank Sinatra or Elvis. For those wanting an adrenaline shot, there is the rollercoaster right in the centre of the strip.
Its a pity we did not have more time to stay but we had to get going as we still faced a long drive out to Grand Canyon National Parc. One day soon I will come back! Hopefully with a bag full of money...
