Sooner than I could have wished for, I had my first PhD work published today! Its very exciting to see your name on a real scientfic article, to be able to click on your name linked to something that comes from Nature Publishing Group! I am sharing the first authorship with Dr. Matyas Gorjanacz, who is a post-doctoral worker at EMBL in Germany. Our proteins seemed to have ‘a relationship’ (more scientifically correct: VRK-1 phosphorylates BAF-1) so we decided to put together all our data and go for The EMBO Journal. Our manuscript got accepted on the 6th of November and went online 7th of December, and I thought Saint Nicholas had skipped my shoe this year! It got published this week in The Embo Journal number 26.
