Moving to Seville

Today I moved to Seville. I flew to Barcelona yesterday, spent the night with my sister and my little nephew, to then fly in today to what will be my new residing place for the next... minimum a year. Through Peter I found a flat. I will live in Montequinto, a city right next to Seville, very close to the institute. I will share this flat with Rafa, who is the owner, and Maria from Malaga. Rafa and Maria are both PhD students in the same institute as me, but in a different department. I have a small but nice room, its painted bright yellow, my favourite colour. My room is at the back of the building, where there is a little one way road that is extremely quiet. Not a single car passes by at night, quite an improvement compared to my flat in Barcelona right next to a 4 lane city entrance road! I even have a room with a view: the swimming-pool which we share with our neighbours. A very nice pool, essential to pull me through the hot summer! We have an acceptable sized livingroom and a nice equipped kitchen. The livingroom gives out to a small terrace. There are two bathrooms, one for Rafa and one for me and Maria. Rafa also has a small room on the roof of the building which is his music room. He plays there with his band, pretty good actually.

Seville is a beautiful city, for those who have not been here yet, book your next city-trip out here. I’ll be your host and your guide. The cathedral is gorgeous, the area of Santa Cruz with its tiny streets, the parcs and the bridges over the river the Guadalquivir are all places I keep going back to. Its fairly cheap to visit Seville as a tourist. And, sadly for my weight, the food is great. A must is to go to a flamenco house, I love their music and dancing! Just dont come out here in July, you will melt like ice under the cruel Andalusion sun...
